Mercury at its brightest

26th April 2009 - Mercury is shining brightest!

On April 26th, Mercury reaches its greatest eastern elongation. Just after sunset you will be able to find Mercury just below the slim cresent Moon. You will be able to see the Seven Sisters (M45) just below the moon aswell.

Lyrid meteor shower

22nd April 2009 - Look out for the Lyrid Meteor shower!

On the early hours of April 22nd, look to the sky and enjoy the Lyrid Meteor shower. It is said that you can see upto 20 meteors per hour if you are very lucky! Whats more its a new moon so the conditions should be just right!.
